Northern Beaches Earthmoving

Northern Beaches Earthmoving is a family-owned and operated business that has served the local community for over 25 years. Owner and operator Jim Brigden, who has 21 years of experience, is hands-on with every project, while his wife Lynette runs the business's administration.

The business specialises in residential excavation work including driveways, rock excavation, pool and spa digs, detailed footings, house site preparation, sandstone block retaining walls and rubbish or fill removal. It complies with Workcover and OHS requirements and is fully insured.

Work in restricted backyards and on ground that is hard to dig features across the accounts left for this earthmoving contractor. Jim is the name that appears most frequently, and several accounts describe an operator who regards the client's land with the same care he would give his own, anticipating obstacles and dealing with them as they emerge instead of waiting for instructions. Arriving when promised and keeping the client informed throughout the job are themes that surface again and again, together with a readiness to discuss possibilities until the most suitable approach is agreed.

The projects described range from a complicated pool dig through heavy rock and hand removal of rock to land clearing, repair of a driveway following unsatisfactory work by another operator, and the building of a sandstone wall. Finish is a point that comes up often, and some clients have returned across several years for further landscaping and excavation. Fair pricing and straightforward guidance are noted alongside the standard achieved, with a concreter brought in to finish one job. Care shown towards the site and having the right machine for the task complete the picture.
