Micro Excavations Pty Ltd | Mini Excavator Hire Gold Coast
About the company
Micro Excavations was founded in 1982 by Bernie Carlson, who coined the terms "Micro Bobcats" and "Micro Excavators" and was the first to offer both machines on the same truck. The Gold Coast company is family owned and operated, specialising in tight and limited access excavation for over 30 years, and has grown into a multi-generation family business now employing three generations. It operates with permanent, fully trained operators, servicing the Gold Coast, South Brisbane and Northern Rivers.
Its fleet includes micro excavators from 550mm to 1550mm wide and micro bobcats and posi-tracks from 900mm to 1580mm wide, with attachments such as augers, rock breakers, trenchers and stump grinders. Machines are fitted with grass tyres or rubber tracks to minimise damage to lawns and paving, and have been used at shopping centres, apartment buildings, hotels, prestige homes and backyards.
What customers say
Based on genuine customer reviews
Micro Excavations' Gold Coast reviewers, coordinated in the office by Kylie, describe operators Max, Kurt, Rod, Jake, Andrew and Matty handling turf preparation, a buried stump removed without incident, rubble cleared from a tight crawl space under a house at short notice ahead of an open house, a garden mound removed, and a pool excavation through a narrow side entrance next to a part-asbestos fence. Reviewers consistently mention the crew working carefully in difficult access conditions and cleaning up thoroughly once finished.

I highly recommend this professional team! A neglected yard area filled with rubble and goodness knows what was left in a perfect state for our landscaping to begin. Amazing! Thank you!
I've used microexcavation twice and I'm extremely satisfied with their service. They consistently arrive on time and ensure the yard is spotless after completing the job, leaving no mess behind.
I wish I could give 6 stars! Kylie in the office was great and Kurt was next level amazing. Fast, knew what he was doing, accurate and was willing to give me advice and help where he could. I did not know there was a huge burried stump, he got it out no drama. Thank you so much.
Great experience with Max and the team at Micro excavations, we worked in the rain to get my turf prep complete and it’s not the first time these guys have delivered a great result. If you want hassle free use these guys. Thank you Kylie in the office!
Very happy with their service. First time using these guys & found them extremely helpful. Was able to obtain a quote from Kylie over the phone. They showed up on time & all work was completed above expectations, I even had them do some extra work while on site & Max was happy to oblige. I highly recommend this business to anyone needing heavy machine work. I will certainly use them again. Thanks guys Adam Adam’s Home Maintenance
Thank you to a great team of professionals. Rod and Jake were a great team removing a large amount of rubble from under our house...quite a tight fit for the excavator. And also a big thank you to the office staff who fitted our job in at very short notice as it was a last minute decision to tidy underneath the house in preparation for an open house inspection a few days later. Rod, Jake and Kylie were all super friendly and soooo helpful. Good job all! Would highly recommend your services to anyone.
Very efficient, honest, punctual and friendly. These guys are fantastic, highly recommend. Andrew did a wonderful job removing a large garden mound from my front yard. Thanks for being so easy and great to work with!
